Catalytic performance of Co-Mo-Ce-K/γ-Al

摘要: The catalytic performance of Co-Mo-Ce-K/γ-Al O catalyst for the shift reaction of CO in coke oven gas is investigated using X-ray diffraction (XRD) and temperature-programmed reduction (TPR). The results indicate that Ce and K have a synergistic effect on promoting the catalytic activity, and the Co-Mo-Ce-K/γ-Al O catalyst with 3.0 wt-% CeO and 6.0 wt-% K O exhibits the highest activity. CeO favors Co dispersion and mainly produces an electronic effect. TPR characterization results indicate that the addition of CeO -K O in the Co-Mo-Ce-K/γ-Al O catalyst decreases the reduction temperature of active components, and part of octahedrally coordinated Mo transforms into tetrahedrally coordinated Mo , which has a close relationship with the catalytic activity.

Modified iron-molybdate catalysts with various metal oxides by a mechanochemical method: enhanced formaldehyde yield in methanol partial oxidation

摘要: A mechanochemical method was employed to prepare modified iron molybdate catalysts with various metal salts as precursors. The physicochemical properties of the iron molybdate catalysts were characterized, and their performances in catalyzing the reaction from methanol to formaldehyde (HCHO) were evaluated. Iron molybdate catalysts doped with Co(NO ) ·6H O and Al(NO ) ·9H O resulted in high HCHO yields. Compared with a commercial catalyst, the HCHO yields in the reaction with the modified catalyst at an optimal Co/Mo molar ratio reached 97.37%. According to chemical state analysis, the formation of CoO and the efficient decrease in the MoO sublimation rate could be important factors enhancing the HCHO yield in reactions catalyzed with iron molybdate doped with different Co/Mo mole ratios.

Achieving historically anticipated improvement in the performance of integrated circuits is challenging, due to the increasing cost and complexity of the required technologies with each new generation. To overcome this limitation, the exploration and development of novel interconnect materials and processes are highly desirable in the microelectronics field. Molybdenum (Mo) is attracting attention as an advanced interconnect material due to its small resistivity size effect and high cohesive energy; however, effective processing methods for such materials have not been widely investigated. Here, we investigate the electrochemical behavior of ions in the confined nanopores that affect the electrical properties and microstructures of nanoscale Mo and Mo–Co alloys prepared via template-assisted electrodeposition. Additives in an electrolyte allow the deposition of extremely pure metal materials, due to their interaction with metal ions and nanopores. In this study, boric acid and tetrabutylammonium bisulfate (TBA) were added to an acetate bath to inhibit the hydrogen evolution reaction. TBA accelerated the reduction of Mo at the surface by inducing surface conduction on the nanopores. Metallic Mo nanowires with a 130 nm diameter synthesized through high-aspect-ratio nanopore engineering exhibited a resistivity of (63.0 ± 17.9) μΩ·cm. We also evaluated the resistivities of Mo–Co alloy nanowires at various compositions toward replacing irreducible conventional barrier/liner layers. An intermetallic compound formed at an Mo composition of 28.6 at%, the resistivity of the Mo–Co nanowire was (58.0 ± 10.6) μΩ·cm, indicating its superior electrical and adhesive properties in comparison with those of conventional barriers such as TaN and TiN. Furthermore, density functional theory and non-equilibrium Green’s function calculations confirmed that the vertical resistance of the via structure constructed from Mo-based materials was 21% lower than that of a conventional Cu/Ta/TaN structure.

Heating energy performance and part load ratio characteristics of boiler staging in an office building

摘要: Commercial buildings account for significant portions of the total building energy in South Korea and thus a variety of research on the boiler operation related to heating energy in office buildings has been carried out thus far. However, most of the researches have been conducted on the boiler itself, i.e., the part load ratio characteristics and the corresponding gas energy consumption patterns are not analyzed in the existing studies. In this study, the part load ratio and the operating characteristics of gas boiler have been analyzed within an office building equipped with the conventional variable air volume system. In addition, the gas consumption among different boiler staging schemes has been comparatively analyzed. As a result, significant portions of total operating hours, heating load and energy consumption has been found to be in a part load ratio range of 0 through 40% and thus energy consumption is significantly affected by boiler efficiency at low part load conditions. This suggests that boiler operation at the part load is an important factor in commercial buildings. In addition, utilizing sequential boiler staging scheme can save a gas usage of about 7%. For annual heating energy saving, applying the sequential control boiler with a 3:7 proportion staging is considered to be the optimal control algorithm for maximum efficiency of boilers.

山西沁水盆地柿庄北区块3#煤层注入埋藏CO2提高煤层气采收率试验和评价

摘要:

对沁水盆地南部柿庄北区块进行了深煤层注入地质和工程评价,认为柿庄北区块适合进行深煤层注入CO2开采煤层气技术的应用;通过SX-001井的微型先导性试验通过现场试验,注入CO2后SX-001井的产气量是注入前的2.45倍;在小于煤岩破裂压力的条件下,每天注入20 t的CO2能够实现顺利注入,并且压力上升速度较慢;注入CO2后,煤岩发生膨胀,局部煤层的渗透率降低,排采一段时间后恢复;在目的煤层中注入的CO2的影响范围内,烃类气体总的置换效率达到14.18 cm3/g。该试验成果证明柿庄北区块通过注入CO2开采煤层气实现了CO2的埋藏,提高了煤层气井的采收率。

Bamboo-like -doped carbon nanotubes encapsulating M(Co, Fe)-Ni alloy for electrochemical production ofsyngas with potential-independent CO/H ratios

摘要: The electrochemical conversion of CO2-H2O into CO-H2 using renewable energy is a promising technique for clean syngas production. Low-cost electrocatalysts to produce tunable syngas with a potential-independent CO/H2 ratio are highly desired. Herein, a series of N-doped carbon nanotubes encapsulating binary alloy nanoparticles (MxNi-NCNT, M= Fe, Co) were successfully fabricated through the co-pyrolysis of melamine and metal precursors. The MxNi-NCNT samples exhibited bamboo-like nanotubular structures with a large specific surface area and high degree of graphitization. Their electrocatalytic performance for syngas production can be tuned by changing the alloy compositions and modifying the electronic structure of the carbon nanotube through the encapsulated metal nanoparticles. Consequently, syngas with a wide range of CO/H2 ratios, from 0.5:1 to 3.4:1, can be produced on MxNi-NCNT. More importantly, stable CO/H2 ratios of 2:1 and 1.5:1, corresponding to the ratio to produce biofuels by syngas fermentation, could be realized on Co1Ni-NCNT and Co2Ni-NCNT, respectively, over a potential window of –0.8 to –1.2 V versus the reversible hydrogen electrode. Our work provides an approach to develop low-cost and potential-independent electrocatalysts to effectively produce syngas with an adjustable CO/H2 ratio from electrochemical CO2 reduction.

Risk analysis methods of the water resources system under uncertainty

摘要: The main characteristic of the water resources system (WRS) is its great complexity and uncertainty, which makes it highly desirable to carry out a risk analysis of the WRS. The natural environmental, social economic conditions as well as limitations of human cognitive ability are possible sources of the uncertainties that need to be taken into account in the risk analysis process. In this paper the inherent stochastic uncertainty and cognitive subjective uncertainty of the WRS are discussed first, from both objective and subjective perspectives. Then the quantitative characterization methods of risk analysis are introduced, including three criteria (reliability, resiliency and vulnerability) and five basic optimization models (the expected risk value model, conditional value at risk model, chance-constrained risk model, minimizing probability of risk events model, and the multi-objective optimization model). Finally, this paper focuses on the various methods of risk analysis under uncertainty, which are summarized as random, fuzzy and mixed methods. A more comprehensive risk analysis methodology for the WRS is proposed based on the comparison of the advantages, disadvantages and applicable conditions of these three methods. This paper provides a decision support of risk analysis for researchers, policy makers and stakeholders of the WRS.

Trend detection and stochastic simulation prediction of streamflow at Yingluoxia hydrological station, Heihe River Basin, China

摘要: Investigating long-term variation and prediction of streamflow are critical to regional water resource management and planning. Under the continuous influence of climate change and human activity, the trends of hydrologic time series are nonstationary, and consequently the established methods for hydrological frequency analysis are no longer applicable. Five methods, including the linear regression, nonlinear regression, change point analysis, wavelet analysis and Hilbert-Huang transformation, were first selected to detect and identify the deterministic and stochastic components of streamflow. The results indicated there was a significant long-term increasing trend. To test the applicability of these five methods, a comprehensive weighted index was then used to assess their performance. This index showed that the linear regression was the best method. Secondly, using the normality test for stochastic components separated by the linear regression method, a normal distribution requirement was satisfied. Next, the Monte Carlo stochastic simulation technique was used to simulate these stochastic components with normal distribution, and thus a new ensemble hydrological time series was obtained by combining the corresponding deterministic components. Finally, according to these outcomes, the streamflow at different frequencies in 2020 was predicted.

Design and analysis of dual fuel methanol-power poly-generation

摘要: A dual fuel head poly-generation flowsheet was designed based on coal gas and coke oven gas. To help clearly understand the system performance, a 1.2×10−3.2×10kg methanol and 274―496MW power poly-generation system was simulated by using the commercially available software ASPEN Plus and GT Pro. The technology scheme, the operating parameters, and the efficiency of the system were also analyzed and evaluated, which will be used for building industrial devices.

Controlling interstory drift ratio profiles via topology optimization strategies

摘要: An approach to control the profiles of interstory drift ratios along the height of building structures via topology optimization is proposed herein. The theoretical foundation of the proposed approach involves solving a min–max optimization problem to suppress the maximum interstory drift ratio among all stories. Two formulations are suggested: one inherits the bound formulation and the other utilizes a p-norm function to aggregate all individual interstory drift ratios. The proposed methodology can shape the interstory drift ratio profiles into inverted triangular or quadratic patterns because it realizes profile control using a group of shape weight coefficients. The proposed formulations are validated via a series of numerical examples. The disparity between the two formulations is clear. The optimization results show the optimal structural features for controlling the interstory drift ratios under different requirements.

A novel energy loss model and optimization design of the coin chute flection curve

In this paper, we propose a novel design model based on the energy loss of the coin (ELM model) to optimize the flection curve, which is widely used in coin operated machines. Two different kinds of energy loss models are analyzed according to dynamic characteristics of the coin falling movement. The flection curve is constructed based on cubic quasi-uniform B-spline with the data points and end points derivatives as inputs, and the curve model is governed and affected by energy loss equations, allowing to minimize the total energy loss before the coin arrives at the detecting position, thus to reduce the energy loss and collisions between the coin and the flection, thus to improve the testing accuracy. A case study with a typical Chinese currency coin shows the effectiveness of the model using GA optimization toolbox.

The Immense Impact of Reverse Edges on Large Hierarchical Networks

摘要: Hierarchical networks are frequently encountered in animal groups, gene networks, and artificial engineering systems such as multiple robots, unmanned vehicle systems, smart grids, wind farm networks, and so forth. The structure of a large directed hierarchical network is often strongly influenced by reverse edges from lower- to higher- level nodes, such as lagging birds’ howl in a flock or the opinions of lower-level individuals feeding back to higher-level ones in a social group. This study reveals that, for most large-scale real hierarchical networks, the majority of the reverse edges do not affect the synchronization process of the entire network; the synchronization process is influenced only by a small part of these reverse edges along specific paths. More surprisingly, a single effective reverse edge can slow down the synchronization of a huge hierarchical network by over 60%. The effect of such edges depends not on the network size but only on the average in-degree of the involved subnetwork. The overwhelming majority of active reverse edges turn out to have some kind of “bunching” effect on the information flows of hierarchical networks, which slows down synchronization processes. This finding refines the current understanding of the role of reverse edges in many natural, social, and engineering hierarchical networks, which might be beneficial for precisely tuning the synchronization rhythms of these networks. Our study also proposes an effective way to attack a hierarchical network by adding a malicious reverse edge to it and provides some guidance for protecting a network by screening out the specific small proportion of vulnerable nodes.
